Our proposed renovation for Cleveland Distillery adapts a historic downtown Wellington building for an intimate tasting room and small-batch spirits production.
The first floor accents the existing wall of millwork with a custom bar serving award-winning spirits, wine and mead produced by Cleveland Distillery. A new open kitchen will serve the lounge and seating area. The historic-replica tin ceiling is accentuated by perimeter lighting and a unique belt-driven fan feature.
The second floor features a compact distilling space overlooking a flexible event space available for tastings and private events. The existing apartment space is repurposed for offices.
We worked closely with the Cleveland Distillery team and the city representatives to create a space that functioned for the new use and thoughtfully balances modern code requirements with maintaining the historic character of the building.
